New Census Bureau Headquarters Complex

This project was managed and completed by Mr. Hamid M Tehrani, P.E. currently the Director of Engineering at Raheja Construction.

He provided oversight and project management to the project which involved the provision of Master Planning to include site plan preparation, utility and grading plans for this two-phased high profile project.


Phase I consisted 771,000 sq. ft. while Phase II consisted of 730,00 sq. ft. giving a gross total of 1,501,000 sq. ft. of office buildings with parking structures for the entire project. New underground systems were installed as well as a building automation system in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Coordination was made with County and Federal Government review agencies for county approvals.

The buildings were designed to meet GSAs Design and Construction Excellence Programs, and attained the Silver level of the U.S. Green Building Councils Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. The project won the 2002 GSA Design Award. Size: 1,501,000 sq. ft.
